Rimadesio

Rimadesio was founded in 1956 in Desio, in the heart of Italy's Brianza design district, and has quietly become the world reference for contemporary glass and aluminium interior systems. Led today by Davide Malberti — son of founder Lino Malberti — and with creative direction by Giuseppe Bavuso since 1994, the company occupies a very particular position in the interior industry: not a furniture brand and not a kitchen brand, but an engineer of the architectural components that shape a home, from sliding doors to walk-in closets to boiserie and storage walls.

The Rimadesio catalogue is organised around four systems that together define an entire interior language. The sliding door programmes — Velaria, Graphis, Moon, Siparium and the iconic Velaria Frame — have become specification standards for minimalist architecture, capable of dividing rooms without visual interruption, running floor-to-ceiling on bespoke rails, and integrating flush with wall finishes. The walk-in closet systems Cover, Zenit and Self combine aluminium structures with internal drawers, accessories and integrated lighting, engineered to configurations that can exceed ten metres in length. The Modulor boiserie and Wind storage systems allow designers to clad entire walls in a rhythmic composition of open shelving, closed volumes, integrated television and hidden storage, in a single coherent material palette.

Every Rimadesio product is manufactured in the company's 32,000 square metre factory in Giussano, Italy, where aluminium is processed and anodised on-site and every piece of glass is cut, tempered and finished in-house. The glass itself is a signature material: painted, ribbed, etched or backlit, it can take on dozens of finishes — from the warm bronze Rimadesio Fumé to the ultra-matte Ecolorsystem palette of more than sixty colours — while remaining fully recyclable. Rimadesio has been certified B-Corp since 2023 and runs one of the most advanced sustainability programmes in the sector, with a fully solar-powered factory and products tracked through EPD environmental declarations.

With flagship stores in Milan, Paris, London, New York, Miami, Dubai, Singapore and Tokyo, and an authorised dealer network across sixty countries, Rimadesio is specified by architects such as David Chipperfield, Antonio Citterio, Patricia Urquiola and Vincent Van Duysen.

For clients who want interior architecture reduced to its purest elements — glass, aluminium, and light — Rimadesio remains without peer: a brand that sells the invisible, precisely engineered.
