Poliform

Poliform was born in 1970 in Inverigo, in the heart of Italy's Brianza furniture district, when three cousins — Alberto Spinelli, Aldo Spinelli and Giovanni Anzani — transformed a small craft workshop into an industrial manufacturer with a fundamentally new ambition: to bring the rigour of Italian industrial design to the complete domestic environment. Half a century later, Poliform is one of the most influential names in contemporary luxury interiors, equally respected for its living collections, its wardrobe systems, and its Poliform|Varenna kitchens.

The brand's signature is a disciplined modern language — long horizontal lines, whispered materials, restrained palettes — executed with industrial precision. Collaborations with architects and designers such as Jean-Marie Massaud, Paola Navone, Carlo Colombo, Marcel Wanders and Rodolfo Dordoni have produced a library of icons: the Mondrian and Bristol sofas, the Saint Germain and Onda armchairs, the Big Bed, and the Concept Wall partition systems. Each piece is engineered to be configured into larger architectural compositions, so that furniture and joinery dissolve into a single design idea.

Poliform's wardrobe and storage programmes — Senzafine, Ego, Ubik, Bangkok, and the new 30/30 system — are widely considered the global benchmark for walk-in closets and bedroom architecture. Modular to the millimetre, they adapt to irregular floor plans, integrate LED lighting, leather, lacquers, glass and wood veneers, and can run as continuous walls across an entire apartment.

In 1996, the acquisition of Varenna added a full kitchen manufacturing capability. Today Poliform|Varenna produces architect-grade kitchens such as Twelve, Phoenix, Alea and Artex, competing directly with the most respected German and Italian kitchen houses while retaining an Italian softness of proportion and material. The brand's partnership with Minotti, Flexform, Cassina and B&B Italia on major residential towers from New York to Dubai has cemented its status as a specification standard for global architecture practices.

Poliform operates four factories in Italy, a global flagship in Milan's Piazza Cavour, and a worldwide network of single-brand stores and showrooms from New York to Shanghai. The brand is vertically integrated — from research and design, through industrial manufacturing, to installation and after-sales — delivering interiors conceived as one coherent project. For clients and architects seeking contemporary Italian residential design with scale, consistency, and uncompromised finish, Poliform remains the definitive reference.
