Meridiani was founded in 1996 in Misinto, Brianza, by Renato Crosti, whose vision was to create an Italian furniture house built around warm, tactile materials and a particular mood of understated luxury. Almost three decades later, Meridiani has become a quiet protagonist of contemporary Italian design: less broadly known than the giants of the Salone, but widely specified by architects and interior designers who value its distinctive, restrained elegance. Every collection is art-directed in-house by founder Andrea Parisio and Giuseppe Viganò — a creative partnership that has defined the visual language of the brand for more than twenty years.

The Meridiani aesthetic is immediately recognisable. Low, soft, deeply proportioned sofas in natural linens and bouclé; dining tables with sculptural bases in cerused oak and burnished metal; armchairs upholstered in warm neutrals — sand, biscuit, tobacco, smoke; and a generous use of natural leather that develops a handsome patina over time. Rooms furnished by Meridiani feel calm, tonal and almost cinematic, which has made the brand a favourite of residential architects working in the Mediterranean, in the alpine chalet tradition, and in contemporary minimalist interiors that want to introduce warmth without decoration.

The catalogue spans sofas (Louis, Timothy, Scott, Grant, Belmond), armchairs (Judd, Morgan, Lloyd), dining tables, coffee tables, beds (Plumet, Stone, Oliver), wardrobes, bookcases, consoles, mirrors and a full outdoor collection released under the Meridiani Outdoor line. Meridiani also operates a full hospitality and contract division which has delivered projects for resorts, hotels and private estates from Porto Cervo and Mykonos to Miami and Dubai, often in partnership with top Italian architects.

Manufacturing is centred at the Misinto headquarters, where upholstery is hand-assembled and individual pieces are finished to order. The brand places strong emphasis on natural, long-lived materials — solid wood, vegetable-tanned leather, hand-looms, natural fibres — and avoids the heavier decorative languages of some of its competitors, positioning itself as a Mediterranean answer to the restrained Nordic sensibility.

With flagship showrooms in Milan, Paris, London, Moscow, New York and Miami, and a selective distribution network in over fifty countries, Meridiani has carved out a clear territory: Italian design at its most emotive, most textured, and most human. For clients seeking a warm, livable contemporary interior — one that reads as timeless rather than trend-driven — Meridiani is among the most considered specifications on the market.
